NEW ORLEANS, LA, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Kerry & Melinda Kirby Foundation in partnership with Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana, announced today that it has helped grant the wish of 10-year-old Sarah, who has courageously battled leukemia for more than two and a half years. Sarah's dream of visiting Disneyland became a reality through the Foundation's support, creating cherished memories for herself and her family during an incredibly challenging chapter of their lives.

Every wish granted through Make-A-Wish represents far more than a special experience—it provides hope, strength, and joy for children facing critical illnesses and the families who stand beside them. The Kerry & Melinda Kirby Foundation is honored to support this mission because every child deserves hope, every family deserves encouragement, and no one should have to face life's hardest battles alone.

The Kerry & Melinda Kirby Foundation has become a steadfast supporter of Make-A-Wish, funding a local wish and partnering on statewide awareness initiatives, including illuminating two of Louisiana's most iconic bridges in blue for World Wish Day. These efforts reflect the Foundation's ongoing commitment to improving lives through meaningful partnerships and lasting community initiatives.

"Helping grant Sarah's wish was one of the most meaningful experiences we've ever had," said Kerry W. Kirby, Co-Founder of the Kerry & Melinda Kirby Foundation. "A wish is far more than a trip or a gift—it gives children and their families optimism, inspiration, and cherished moments at a time when they need it most. We are deeply grateful to Make-A-Wish for allowing us to be part of Sarah's story and to help create a memory that will last a lifetime."

"Seeing Sarah's smile reminded us that some of life's greatest moments come from giving others the opportunity to dream," added Melinda M. Kirby. "We hope her wish inspires others to support Make-A-Wish so more children facing critical illnesses can experience the same happiness and unforgettable memories when they too have their dream come true."

"Every wish is made possible because of compassionate partners who believe in the life-changing power of hope," said Shelly Millwee, CEO and President of Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana. "The generosity of the Kerry & Melinda Kirby Foundation will give Sarah and her family moments they will cherish forever. Wishes create hope, build strength, and bring joy during some of life's most difficult moments, and we're incredibly grateful for the Foundation's partnership and unwavering commitment to helping children across Louisiana."
